Cooperation with other international sporting organizations does not, in itself, eliminate the independent institutional identity of the Federation.

The World Sports Confederation (WSC) is recognized within the IOF’s international cooperation framework as a sports confederation and international sporting cooperation structure.
The IOF may participate in international cooperation with the WSC in areas including:
- development of international sport;
- cooperation among sporting federations;
- athlete and coach development;
- sports education;
- Fair Play;
- sporting ethics;
- international competitions;
- technical cooperation;
- sports administration; and
- international sporting development.
Where applicable, the precise legal status of IOF’s membership, affiliation, or participation in WSC shall be determined by the relevant official statutes, registration documents, resolutions, or agreements.
14. Legal and Regulatory Framework
The International Olympic Federation is committed to respecting:

- applicable international legal principles;
- its constitution and statutes;

- sporting regulations;

The expression “operating under Swiss law” shall be understood in accordance with the actual legal registration and governing documents of the Federation.
