EUROPEAN KICKBOXING FEDERATION (EKF)

PREAMBLE

The European Kickboxing Federation (EKF) is established as an independent, non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit sports organization dedicated to the governance, promotion, regulation, development, and protection of Kickboxing throughout Europe.

EKF recognizes the diversity of Kickboxing disciplines and styles and is committed to fostering unity, cooperation, fair play, excellence, inclusion, mutual respect, and international friendship among all athletes, coaches, officials, promoters, clubs, national federations, and stakeholders involved in the sport.

The Federation shall operate in accordance with the principles of transparency, democracy, equality, integrity, good governance, human rights, non-discrimination, and sporting ethics, while respecting the legal frameworks of the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the laws of member states.

ARTICLE 1

NAME, STATUS AND LEGAL NATURE

1. The name of the organization shall be the European Kickboxing Federation (EKF).

2. EKF shall function as an independent continental governing body for Kickboxing within Europe.

3. EKF shall be a non-profit and non-political organization.

4. EKF shall enjoy full autonomy in the administration, regulation, development, and promotion of Kickboxing activities throughout Europe.

5. EKF shall maintain neutrality regarding political, religious, ethnic, and ideological matters.

ARTICLE 2

TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION

1. EKF shall exercise its activities throughout the European continent.

2. Membership shall be open to recognized national kickboxing federations, associations, and organizations from European countries.

3. EKF may establish cooperative relations with continental and international sports institutions where such cooperation serves the interests of the sport and its athletes.

ARTICLE 3

PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES

The objectives of EKF shall include:

a. Promoting and developing Kickboxing throughout Europe.

b. Supporting athletes, coaches, referees, judges, officials, and national federations.

c. Organizing European Championships, Cups, Grand Prix events, leagues, educational programs, and other official competitions.

d. Establishing and maintaining uniform sporting, technical, educational, and ethical standards.

e. Protecting the interests and welfare of athletes.

f. Encouraging youth participation, gender equality, and inclusive sporting opportunities.

g. Combating discrimination, violence, corruption, manipulation of competitions, doping, and unethical conduct.

h. Facilitating cooperation among European nations through sport.

i. Preserving and promoting all recognized disciplines and styles of Kickboxing.

ARTICLE 4

RECOGNIZED DISCIPLINES

EKF shall recognize, regulate, develop, and support all forms and disciplines of Kickboxing, including but not limited to:

– Full Contact

– Low Kick

– K-1 Rules

– Light Contact

– Point Fighting

– Kick Light

– Oriental Rules

– International Rules

– Muay Thai-related Kickboxing formats where applicable

– Traditional and modern Kickboxing systems

– Tatami and Ring Sports

– Para-Kickboxing

– Youth and Junior Kickboxing disciplines

The Executive Board may recognize additional disciplines consistent with the objectives of EKF.

ARTICLE 5

PRINCIPLES OF GOVERNANCE

EKF shall be governed according to the following principles:

1. Independence and autonomy.

2. Democracy and transparency.

3. Equal treatment of all members.

4. Accountability and ethical leadership.

5. Respect for athletes’ rights.

6. Gender equality and inclusion.

7. Fair competition and sporting integrity.

8. Financial responsibility and transparency.

ARTICLE 6

MEMBERSHIP

Membership may be granted to:

– National Federations

– National Associations

– Regional Organizations

– Associate Members

– Honorary Members

Each member shall:

– Respect EKF Statutes and Regulations.

– Promote sporting values.

– Participate in EKF activities.

– Maintain good standing and compliance with EKF rules.

ARTICLE 7

RIGHTS OF MEMBERS

Members shall have the right to:

1. Participate in EKF events.

2. Vote at the General Assembly where eligible.

3. Submit proposals and motions.

4. Receive support, guidance, and development opportunities.

5. Benefit from educational and technical programs.

ARTICLE 8

GENERAL ASSEMBLY

1. The General Assembly shall be the supreme governing authority of EKF.

2. The General Assembly shall:

– Elect the President and Executive Board.

– Approve statutes and amendments.

– Approve budgets and reports.

– Determine strategic policies.

3. Ordinary sessions shall be held periodically as determined by EKF regulations.

ARTICLE 9

EXECUTIVE BOARD

1. The Executive Board shall manage EKF affairs between General Assemblies.

2. The Board shall consist of:

– President

– Vice Presidents

– Secretary General

– Treasurer

– Executive Members

3. The Board shall ensure efficient administration and implementation of EKF policies.

ARTICLE 10

ATHLETE PROTECTION AND FAIR PLAY

EKF shall:

– Protect athlete welfare and safety.

– Promote clean sport and anti-doping measures.

– Prevent abuse, harassment, discrimination, and exploitation.

– Ensure equal opportunities for all participants.

ARTICLE 11

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

EKF may cooperate with:

– European institutions

– International sports organizations

– National federations

– Educational and research institutions

– Governmental and non-governmental organizations

Such cooperation shall not compromise EKF’s independence and autonomy.

ARTICLE 12

FINANCIAL RESOURCES

EKF finances may derive from:

– Membership fees

– Event revenues

– Sponsorship agreements

– Donations and grants

– Educational programs

– Other lawful sources

All funds shall be used exclusively for the development and promotion of Kickboxing.

ARTICLE 13

ETHICS AND DISCIPLINE

EKF shall establish:

– Ethics Commission

– Disciplinary Commission

– Appeals Commission

These bodies shall operate independently and fairly.

ARTICLE 14

OFFICIAL LANGUAGES

The official language of EKF shall be English.

Additional languages may be adopted for administrative convenience.

ARTICLE 15

AMENDMENTS

Amendments to these Statutes may be adopted by the General Assembly in accordance with EKF regulations.

ARTICLE 16

DISSOLUTION

The dissolution of EKF may only be decided by an Extraordinary General Assembly under conditions prescribed by these Statutes and applicable law.

FINAL DECLARATION

The European Kickboxing Federation (EKF) is recognized as an independent European governing body dedicated to the promotion, development, regulation, protection, and advancement of all Kickboxing disciplines throughout Europe. EKF shall serve as a unifying platform for national federations, athletes, officials, and stakeholders while preserving the autonomy, integrity, and future growth of the sport across the European continent.
