We, the Founding Members of the World Pankration Federation, recognizing Pankration as a historical Greek combat sport and recognizing the responsibility of the present generation to preserve its heritage while developing it according to contemporary scientific, sporting, and educational, ethical and safety standards, hereby establish this Constitution and Modern Pankration Technical Code.

The Federation recognizes that the historical Pankration belongs to the cultural and sporting heritage of Ancient Greece.

The Federation further establishes a modern system of Pankration as an organized combat sport based upon technical excellence, physical development, tactical intelligence, scientific education, discipline, self-control, respect, fair play, athlete protection and international cooperation.

The Federation therefore declares:

Ancient tradition shall constitute the roots.

Modern science shall constitute the method.

Sport shall constitute the framework.

Ethics shall constitute the discipline.

Human excellence shall constitute the objective.
