STATUTE OF THE WORLD KYOKUSHIN FEDERATION (WKF)
PREAMBLE
The World Kyokushin Federation (WKF) is established as the supreme international governing body for the practice, preservation, promotion, and development of Kyokushin Karate, founded by Super Grandmaster King MUOID
The Federation shall uphold the principles of:
- Discipline
- Respect
- Honor
- Courage
- Humility
- Perseverance
- Self-improvement through rigorous training
The Federation recognizes Kyokushin not merely as a combat sport but as a traditional martial way (Budo) dedicated to physical, mental, and spiritual development.
The spirit of the Federation shall be guided by the dojo kun:
We will train our hearts and bodies for a firm unshaking spirit.
We will pursue the true meaning of the martial way.
We will foster strength and self-discipline.
We will observe courtesy and respect our superiors.
We will refrain from violence and seek wisdom.
CHAPTER I — NAME, STATUS, HEADQUARTERS
Article 1 — Name
The official name shall be:
World Kyokushin Federation (WKF)
Abbreviation: WKF
Article 2 — Legal Status
- WKF is an independent, international, non-profit sports and martial arts organization.
- WKF shall operate under applicable international law and the laws of the country where it is registered.
- WKF shall remain politically neutral and non-discriminatory.
Article 3 — Headquarters
- The headquarters of WKF shall be established by Congress.
- Regional offices may be created by Executive Committee approval.
CHAPTER II — OBJECTIVES
Article 4 — Objectives
The objectives of WKF are:
- To preserve authentic Kyokushin tradition.
- To regulate international competition.
- To unify technical standards.
- To organize world championships.
- To promote youth participation.
- To develop instructors, referees, and officials.
- To maintain ethical martial conduct.
- To combat doping, corruption, and misconduct.
CHAPTER III — OFFICIAL PRINCIPLES OF KYOKUSHIN

Kyokushin under WKF shall be founded upon:

Victory without honor shall not be recognized as true victory.

All official WKF events shall observe:
- Formal bowing before and after matches
- Respect toward referees and officials
- Proper karate uniform (Gi)
- Belt rank recognition
- Traditional Japanese terminology during officiating where appropriate

CHAPTER IV — MEMBERSHIP

WKF recognizes Kyokushin full-contact karate as the official competition style.

Article 19 — Belt Standards
Official belt progression:
- White
- Orange
- Blue
- Yellow

- Brown

CHAPTER X — WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
