STATUS AND IDENTITY

Article 1 — Official Name

1. The official name of the organization shall be:

ASIAN SPORTS CONFEDERATION

2. The official abbreviation shall be:

ASC

3. ASC may use the official designation:

Asian Sports Confederation — Independent Global Governing Body for Martial Arts and Combat Sports.

Article 2 — Legal and Organizational Status

1. The Asian Sports Confederation (ASC) is an independent, autonomous, non-governmental and non-profit international sports governing body dedicated to the governance, development, regulation and promotion of martial arts and combat sports worldwide.
2. Although founded in Asia and carrying the name Asian Sports Confederation, ASC shall operate on a global international basis and may admit eligible national federations, continental organizations, international associations, clubs, academies and other recognized sporting bodies from all regions of the world.
3. ASC shall have jurisdiction within its recognized organizational structure over martial arts and combat sports disciplines, subject to applicable law and the constitutional authority of its members.
4. ASC shall maintain its organizational, administrative and sporting independence while cooperating with recognized international and continental sports organizations.
5. ASC shall not be controlled by any government, political party, commercial organization or individual.

Article 3 — Global Scope

1. ASC shall operate internationally and shall seek to develop a worldwide network of national and international governing organizations.
2. ASC may recognize and affiliate:a. National martial arts federations;
   b. National combat sports federations;
   c. International martial arts organizations;
   d. International combat sports organizations;
   e. Continental confederations;
   f. Regional federations;
   g. Sport-specific organizations;
   h. Clubs and academies;
   i. Educational and technical institutions;
   j. Other eligible sporting organizations.
3. ASC may establish continental and regional structures for:
   • Asia;
   • Europe;
   • Africa;
   • North America;
   • South America;
   • Oceania;
   • Middle East;
   • Other regions recognized by ASC.

Article 4 — Governing Authority

1. ASC shall serve as an international governing body for the martial arts and combat sports disciplines recognized under its statutes and regulations.
2. ASC may establish technical rules, competition regulations, safety standards, athlete standards, officials’ standards and organizational requirements for competitions conducted under ASC authority.
3. ASC shall respect the historical, cultural and technical identity of individual martial arts and combat sports.
4. ASC may establish separate commissions, councils and technical bodies for different martial arts and combat sports.
5. Where an individual discipline has an established international governing organization, ASC may establish cooperation, affiliation, recognition or mutual-development arrangements with that organization.

ARTICLE 5 — AFFILIATION WITH THE WORLD SPORTS CONFEDERATION

1. The Asian Sports Confederation (ASC) shall be affiliated with the World Sports Confederation (WSC) in accordance with the applicable recognition, affiliation or cooperation agreement between the organizations.
2. ASC shall maintain its organizational and sporting autonomy while recognizing its affiliation with WSC.
3. ASC may represent its recognized martial arts and combat sports disciplines within the framework of its affiliation with WSC.
4. ASC shall comply with applicable requirements arising from its formal affiliation with WSC.
5. The nature and extent of the WSC affiliation shall be governed by the applicable formal agreement, recognition instrument, statutes and regulations of the respective organizations.
6. No provision of this Article shall be interpreted as transferring the independent constitutional authority of ASC unless expressly provided for in a formally executed agreement.

ARTICLE 6 — MISSION

The mission of ASC shall be:

“To unite, govern, develop, regulate and promote martial arts and combat sports throughout the world through an independent, democratic, transparent, safe and internationally respected sporting organization.”

ASC shall promote:

• Unity among martial arts and combat sports;
• Athlete development;
• Fair competition;
• Sporting excellence;
• Safety and medical protection;
• Integrity and fair play;
• Anti-doping principles;
• Development of coaches and officials;
• Youth participation;
• Women’s participation;
• Inclusive sport;
• Traditional martial arts heritage;
• International cooperation;
• Cultural exchange;
• Peace and friendship through sport.

ARTICLE 7 — RECOGNIZED DISCIPLINES

ASC may recognize and govern, regulate or support martial arts and combat sports including, but not limited to:

Traditional Martial Arts

• Karate
• Judo
• Taekwondo
• Wushu
• Kung Fu
• Aikido
• Hapkido
• Kendo
• Jiu-Jitsu
• Ju-Jutsu
• Traditional Asian martial arts
• Other recognized traditional martial arts

Combat Sports

• Boxing
• Kickboxing
• Muay Thai
• Wrestling
• Grappling
• Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
• Sambo
• MMA
• Pankration
• Combat Sambo
• Other recognized combat sports

Emerging and Specialized Disciplines

ASC may recognize additional martial arts and combat sports following review by the appropriate ASC Technical Commission and approval under ASC regulations.

ARTICLE 8 — CONTINENTAL CONFEDERATIONS

1. ASC may establish or recognize continental confederations operating under the authority of ASC.
2. Continental structures may include:Asian Sports Confederation RegionEuropean Sports Confederation RegionAfrican Sports Confederation RegionAmerican Sports Confederation RegionOceania Sports Confederation RegionMiddle East Sports Regionand other structures approved by ASC.
3. Continental organizations shall operate in accordance with the ASC Constitution, Statutes and Regulations.
4. Continental bodies may organize championships, development programs and regional activities subject to ASC recognition.

ARTICLE 9 — NATIONAL GOVERNING BODIES

1. ASC may recognize one or more eligible national governing bodies for each recognized discipline, subject to its membership and recognition regulations.
2. National governing bodies shall be responsible for developing their respective martial arts and combat sports within their jurisdiction.
3. National members shall comply with ASC statutes, regulations and integrity requirements.
4. ASC shall encourage democratic governance, athlete protection, transparency and technical development among its national members.

ARTICLE 10 — INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

ASC may organize and sanction:

1. World Martial Arts Championships;
2. World Combat Sports Championships;
3. ASC World Cups;
4. Continental Championships;
5. Regional Championships;
6. Youth World Championships;
7. Junior Championships;
8. Masters Championships;
9. Women’s Championships;
10. Para-Martial Arts and Para-Combat Sports Championships;
11. Professional and amateur competitions;
12. Other international events approved by ASC.

ARTICLE 11 — AUTONOMY

1. ASC shall be autonomous in its internal governance and sporting administration.
2. No external organization, government or private entity may interfere with the internal democratic administration of ASC except where expressly provided by law or a binding agreement accepted by ASC.
3. ASC shall retain authority over matters expressly assigned to it under its Constitution, Statutes and Regulations.
4. Affiliation with WSC or another recognized international organization shall not, by itself, constitute a transfer of ownership or control of ASC.

ARTICLE 12 — OFFICIAL PRINCIPLE

ASC shall be guided by the following principle:

“One Confederation, Many Disciplines, One Global Martial Arts and Combat Sports Community.”

ASC shall seek to unite different martial arts and combat sports while preserving their individual technical, cultural and historical identities.

ARTICLE 13 — OFFICIAL ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGNATION

For official documents, correspondence, certificates, championships and international representation, the organization may be designated as:

ARTICLE 14 — INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTATION

ASC may represent its members in international sporting affairs within the scope of its statutes and recognized authority.

ASC may:

1. Enter international cooperation agreements;
2. Establish international sporting partnerships;
3. Recognize national and continental members;
4. Establish international technical commissions;
5. Organize global championships;
6. Issue international rankings and classifications;
7. Establish world records where appropriate;
8. Certify officials, coaches and technical personnel;
9. Develop international sporting standards;
10. Participate in international sports forums.

The Asian Sports Confederation (ASC) is an independent, autonomous and non-governmental global governing body for martial arts and combat sports, established to unite, govern, regulate, develop and promote recognized martial arts and combat sports worldwide.
