STATUTE OF THE WORLD KRAV MAGA CONFEDERATION (WKMC)

ARTICLE 1 – NAME

  1. The name of the organization shall be the World Krav Maga Confederation (WKMC).
  2. The WKMC is an independent, international, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, development, education, and regulation of Krav Maga worldwide.

ARTICLE 2 – LEGAL STATUS

  1. The WKMC shall be established as an international non-profit organization under the laws of the country in which it is registered.
  2. The Confederation shall possess legal personality and may own property, enter into contracts, receive donations, and undertake all lawful activities necessary to fulfill its objectives.
  3. The Confederation shall remain politically and religiously neutral.

ARTICLE 3 – HEADQUARTERS

  1. The headquarters of the WKMC shall be located in a country determined by the Executive Board.
  2. Regional offices may be established by decision of the Executive Board.

ARTICLE 4 – PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the WKMC are:

  • To promote Krav Maga worldwide.
  • To establish high technical and ethical standards.
  • To preserve the principles and traditions of Krav Maga.
  • To certify instructors, examiners, and schools.
  • To organize seminars, instructor courses, camps, and competitions where appropriate.
  • To encourage self-defense education for civilians, law enforcement, and military personnel.
  • To support research into self-defense methodology.
  • To encourage youth development and women’s self-defense.
  • To foster friendship and cooperation among member countries.
  • To uphold fair play, respect, integrity, and professionalism.

ARTICLE 5 – PRINCIPLES

The Confederation shall operate according to the principles of:

  • Equality
  • Transparency
  • Democracy
  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Safety
  • Non-discrimination
  • Good governance

Discrimination based on nationality, race, religion, gender, age, disability, or political opinion is prohibited.


ARTICLE 6 – MEMBERSHIP

Membership may be granted to:

A. National Federations

One officially recognized organization per country.

B. Associate Members

Organizations developing Krav Maga where no National Federation exists.

C. Individual Members

Qualified instructors, examiners, and practitioners.

D. Honorary Members

Individuals recognized for exceptional service.

Membership applications shall be approved by the Executive Board.


ARTICLE 7 – RIGHTS OF MEMBERS

Members have the right to:

  • Participate in WKMC activities.
  • Attend the General Assembly.
  • Vote (where applicable).
  • Elect eligible officers.
  • Receive certifications.
  • Submit proposals.
  • Appeal disciplinary decisions.

ARTICLE 8 – DUTIES OF MEMBERS

Members shall:

  • Follow this Statute.
  • Respect WKMC regulations.
  • Pay membership fees.
  • Maintain ethical conduct.
  • Promote safe training.
  • Protect the reputation of WKMC.

ARTICLE 9 – TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Membership may end through:

  • Resignation
  • Dissolution
  • Non-payment
  • Expulsion
  • Serious misconduct

Expulsion requires a two-thirds vote of the Executive Board.


ARTICLE 10 – GOVERNING BODIES

The governing bodies shall be:

  1. General Assembly
  2. Executive Board
  3. President
  4. Technical Committee
  5. Ethics and Disciplinary Committee
  6. Audit Committee

ARTICLE 11 – GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The General Assembly is the highest authority.

It shall:

  • Elect officers.
  • Approve budgets.
  • Amend the Statute.
  • Approve reports.
  • Admit or expel members.
  • Decide strategic direction.

Ordinary meetings shall be held every two years.

Extraordinary meetings may be convened by:

  • The President,
  • The Executive Board,
  • One-third of voting members.

ARTICLE 12 – VOTING

Each National Federation has one vote.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Simple majority decides ordinary matters.
  • Two-thirds majority is required for:
    • Statute amendments
    • Expulsion of members
    • Dissolution

Voting may be conducted electronically.


ARTICLE 13 – EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Executive Board consists of:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary General
  • Treasurer
  • Technical Director
  • Up to six additional Board Members

Term of office:

Four years.

Members may be re-elected.


ARTICLE 14 – PRESIDENT

The President shall:

  • Represent WKMC.
  • Chair meetings.
  • Execute General Assembly decisions.
  • Sign official documents.
  • Promote international relations.

ARTICLE 15 – SECRETARY GENERAL

The Secretary General shall:

  • Maintain records.
  • Organize meetings.
  • Manage correspondence.
  • Keep membership registers.

ARTICLE 16 – TREASURER

The Treasurer shall:

  • Maintain financial accounts.
  • Prepare annual financial reports.
  • Present budgets.
  • Ensure proper financial control.

ARTICLE 17 – TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

Responsibilities include:

  • Technical curriculum.
  • Instructor standards.
  • Examination standards.
  • Dan grade recognition.
  • Technical regulations.

Members are appointed by the Executive Board.


ARTICLE 18 – ETHICS AND DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

Responsible for:

  • Ethical complaints.
  • Disciplinary investigations.
  • Appeals.
  • Sanctions.

Possible sanctions include:

  • Warning
  • Suspension
  • Removal of certification
  • Expulsion

Fair hearing shall always be provided.


ARTICLE 19 – AUDIT COMMITTEE

The Audit Committee shall:

  • Review financial statements.
  • Monitor financial integrity.
  • Report annually to the General Assembly.

ARTICLE 20 – FINANCES

Income may consist of:

  • Membership fees
  • Certification fees
  • Seminar fees
  • Donations
  • Sponsorships
  • Grants
  • Merchandise
  • Other lawful income

Funds shall be used solely for the objectives of WKMC.

No profits shall be distributed to members.


ARTICLE 21 – CERTIFICATION

The WKMC shall establish regulations governing:

  • Instructor certification
  • Examiner licensing
  • School affiliation
  • Dan rankings
  • Continuing education
  • Instructor renewal

ARTICLE 22 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The WKMC owns:

  • Logos
  • Trademarks
  • Official publications
  • Educational materials
  • Certification designs

Unauthorized use is prohibited.


ARTICLE 23 – CODE OF ETHICS

Members shall:

  • Respect all individuals.
  • Avoid abuse of authority.
  • Reject discrimination.
  • Promote safety.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest.

ARTICLE 24 – CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Board members shall disclose conflicts of interest and abstain from decisions where such conflicts exist.


ARTICLE 25 – DATA PROTECTION

The WKMC shall process personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.


ARTICLE 26 – OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language shall be English.

Translations may be issued for convenience.


ARTICLE 27 – AMENDMENTS

Amendments require:

  • Written proposal.
  • Notice to members at least 30 days before voting.
  • Approval by a two-thirds majority of voting members.

ARTICLE 28 – DISSOLUTION

The Confederation may be dissolved only by a three-quarters majority of the General Assembly.

After settlement of liabilities, remaining assets shall be transferred to another non-profit organization pursuing similar objectives.

No member shall receive any financial benefit.


ARTICLE 29 – FINAL PROVISIONS

  1. Matters not covered by this Statute shall be decided by the Executive Board until the next General Assembly.
  2. Internal regulations may be adopted provided they do not conflict with this Statute.
  3. This Statute enters into force upon its adoption by the Founding General Assembly.
