THE WORLD SPORT KARATE FEDERATION (WSKF)

Article 1 – Name

The official name of the organization shall be the World Sport Karate Federation (WSKF).

Article 2 – Nature

The World Sport Karate Federation (WSKF) is an independent international organization dedicated to the promotion, development, education, and governance of sport karate throughout the world. The Federation shall operate in accordance with its statutes, regulations, and principles of fairness, integrity, respect, and sportsmanship.

Article 3 – Headquarters

The headquarters of the WSKF shall be established at a location determined by the Executive Board. Regional and national offices may be established as required.

Article 4 – Vision

The vision of WSKF is to unite the global karate community through excellence in sport, education, leadership, friendship, and peaceful international cooperation.

Article 5 – Mission

The mission of WSKF is to:

  • Promote sport karate worldwide.
  • Develop international standards for competition and education.
  • Support athletes, coaches, referees, and instructors.
  • Organize national, continental, and world championships.
  • Encourage youth development and lifelong participation in karate.
  • Foster mutual respect, discipline, and cultural understanding.

Article 6 – Core Values

The Federation shall uphold the following values:

Article 7 – Founder

The World Sport Karate Federation acknowledges Philosopher Super Grandmaster King Mohammdullah Omar Iman Dost as the Founder and Founding President of the Federation. The Founder shall be recognized in the official history and ceremonial records of the organization.

Article 8 – Membership

Membership may be granted to:

  • National Karate Federations
  • Continental Federations
  • Clubs and Academies
  • Individual Members
  • Honorary Members
  • Associate Organizations

Members shall comply with the Statute, Code of Ethics, and regulations of WSKF.

Article 9 – Governing Bodies

The governing bodies of WSKF shall consist of:

  1. General Assembly
  2. President
  3. Executive Board
  4. Technical Committee
  5. Referee Commission
  6. Athletes Commission
  7. Ethics and Disciplinary Commission
  8. Medical and Safety Commission

Additional committees may be established as necessary.

Article 10 – President

The President is the chief executive officer of WSKF and shall:

  • Represent the Federation internationally.
  • Preside over meetings.
  • Implement decisions of the General Assembly.
  • Appoint committees when authorized.
  • Promote the development of karate worldwide.

Article 11 – General Assembly

The General Assembly shall be the supreme decision-making authority of WSKF.

Its responsibilities include:

  • Approving amendments to the Statute.
  • Electing officers.
  • Approving financial reports.
  • Determining strategic policies.
  • Admitting and suspending members.

Article 12 – Executive Board

The Executive Board shall supervise the daily administration of the Federation and implement decisions of the General Assembly.

Article 13 – Competitions

WSKF shall organize and sanction:

  • World Championships
  • Continental Championships
  • International Open Championships
  • National Championships
  • Youth Championships
  • Para-Karate Championships
  • Coaching and Referee Courses

Article 14 – Ethics

All members shall:

  • Respect the rules of karate.
  • Reject discrimination and harassment.
  • Oppose doping and corruption.
  • Promote fair competition and good sportsmanship.

Article 15 – Finance

The financial resources of WSKF may include:

  • Membership fees
  • Event revenues
  • Sponsorships
  • Donations
  • Grants
  • Licensing and merchandising

All finances shall be managed transparently and responsibly.

Article 16 – Official Languages

The official language of WSKF shall be English. Additional official languages may be recognized by the General Assembly.

Article 17 – Amendments

These Statutes may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the General Assembly.

Article 18 – Dissolution

The Federation may only be dissolved by a three-quarters majority vote of the General Assembly. Any remaining assets shall be distributed according to applicable law and the decision of the Assembly.

Article 19 – Entry into Force

These Statutes shall enter into force immediately upon their adoption by the Founding General Assembly of the World Sport Karate Federation (WSKF).
