WORLD FEDERATION OF MARTIAL ARTS (WFMA)
ARTICLE 1 – NAME, LEGAL FORM AND STATUS
The name of the organization shall be World Federation of Martial Arts (WFMA) (hereinafter referred to as the “Federation”).
The Federation is established as an independent, non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political international organization.
The Federation shall have full legal personality in accordance with the laws of the country of registration.
ARTICLE 2 – REGISTERED OFFICE
The registered office of the Federation shall be located in a country determined by the General Assembly.
The Federation may establish regional offices, branches, or representations in other countries as deemed necessary.
ARTICLE 3 – OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES
The objectives of the Federation are:
a. To promote and develop martial arts worldwide.
b. To encourage ethical values, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
c. To organize and regulate international competitions, championships, and events.
d. To establish and maintain international standards for training, coaching, and refereeing.
e. To cooperate with international sports organizations and institutions.
f. To foster unity and cultural exchange through martial arts.
ARTICLE 4 – MEMBERSHIP
Membership categories shall include:
a. National Members (recognized national federations or associations)
b. Associate Members
c. Honorary Members
Admission criteria:
a. Acceptance of this Constitution
b. Legal recognition in the respective country (for National Members)
c. Payment of membership fees
Membership may be suspended or terminated by decision of the Executive Board for violation of this Constitution.
ARTICLE 5 – GOVERNING BODIES
The governing bodies of the Federation shall be:
a. The General Assembly
b. The Executive Board
c. The President
d. Committees and Commissions
ARTICLE 6 – GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The General Assembly is the supreme authority of the Federation.
It shall convene at least once per year.
Responsibilities include:
a. Electing the President and Executive Board members
b. Approving annual reports and financial statements
c. Adopting and amending the Constitution
d. Determining strategic policies
Decisions shall be taken by simple majority unless otherwise specified.
ARTICLE 7 – EXECUTIVE BOARD
The Executive Board shall consist of:
President
Vice Presidents
Secretary General
Treasurer
Additional members as required
Term of office: Four (4) years.
The Executive Board is responsible for implementing decisions of the General Assembly and managing the Federation’s affairs.
ARTICLE 8 – PRESIDENT
The President is the legal representative of the Federation.
The President shall:
a. Preside over meetings
b. Oversee implementation of decisions
c. Represent the Federation internationally
ARTICLE 9 – COMMITTEES
The Federation may establish permanent or ad hoc committees, including:
Technical Committee
Refereeing Committee
Ethics Committee
Competition Committee
Committees operate under regulations approved by the Executive Board.
ARTICLE 10 – FINANCIAL RESOURCES
The financial resources of the Federation shall include:
a. Membership fees
b. Donations and sponsorships
c. Event revenues
d. Grants and other lawful income
ARTICLE 11 – FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
The financial year shall be determined by the Executive Board.
Proper accounts shall be maintained in accordance with international standards.
Annual financial reports shall be submitted to the General Assembly for approval.
ARTICLE 12 – OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The official language of the Federation shall be English.
Other languages may be used where necessary.
ARTICLE 13 – AMENDMENTS
This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the General Assembly.
ARTICLE 14 – DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Any disputes arising within the Federation shall be resolved amicably or referred to an independent arbitration body as determined by the General Assembly.
ARTICLE 15 – DISSOLUTION
The Federation may be dissolved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the General Assembly.
In the event of dissolution, assets shall be transferred to a non-profit organization with similar objectives.
ARTICLE 16 – FINAL PROVISIONS
This Constitution enters into force upon its adoption by the founding General Assembly.
