World Martial Arts Foundation (WMAF) Article 1 – Name, Legal Status, and Headquarters The name of the organization shall be World Martial Arts Foundation (WMAF). WMAF is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit international organization. The Foundation shall operate in accordance with applicable international laws governing non-profit organizations (NGOs). The Headquarters shall be determined by the Executive Board. Regional and continental offices may be established as necessary. Article 2 – Mission and Objectives The objectives of WMAF are: To promote, develop, and standardize martial arts worldwide. To uphold the values of respect, discipline, integrity, and sportsmanship. To organize international championships, seminars, congresses, and training programs. To establish grading systems and issue official certifications. To support athletes, coaches, referees, and national organizations. To encourage cooperation among martial arts organizations globally. To promote fair play and anti-doping principles in accordance with international standards. Article 3 – Membership 3.1 Categories of Membership: National Federations Continental/Regional Organizations Clubs and Academies Individual Members (athletes, coaches, referees) Honorary Members 3.2 Membership Requirements: Acceptance of this Charter and all WMAF regulations Payment of annual membership fees Compliance with WMAF ethical and technical standards Approval by the Membership Committee Article 4 – Governing Bodies 4.1 General Assembly The supreme authority of WMAF Meets annually or extraordinarily when required Approves budgets, policies, and amendments Elects the President and Executive Board 4.2 Executive Board Composed of: President First Vice President Second Vice President Secretary General Treasurer Committee Directors The Executive Board manages the Foundation between General Assembly meetings. 4.3 Standing Committees Technical Committee Refereeing Committee Education Committee Medical and Anti-Doping Committee International Relations Committee Competition Committee Ethics and Disciplinary Committee Article 5 – Elections Elections shall be held every four (4) years. Voting shall be conducted by secret ballot. Each full member shall have one vote unless otherwise defined in the bylaws. Article 6 – Financial Resources The financial resources of WMAF shall include: Annual membership fees Sponsorships and partnerships Event revenues Donations and grants Certification and licensing fees All financial activities shall be transparent and subject to independent auditing. Article 7 – Technical Regulations and Ranking System WMAF shall establish an international ranking and grading system (including belt and Dan levels where applicable). Official certificates shall include international registration numbers and verification codes. Competition rules shall be defined and updated by the Technical Committee. Article 8 – Ethics and Discipline All members must adhere to the WMAF Code of Ethics. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or expulsion. The Ethics and Disciplinary Committee shall review and decide on all disciplinary matters. Article 9 – Dissolution The dissolution of WMAF may only occur with a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the General Assembly. In such case, assets shall be distributed in accordance with applicable non-profit laws. Article 10 – Amendments Amendments to this Charter require approval by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the General Assembly.
